Hot Honey Chicken

Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 pounds boneless , skinless chicken thighs (or chicken tenders)
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Neutral oil , for pan-frying
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce , halal-certified, vinegar-based
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper , optional
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • Pinch of salt

  • Shallow dishes for dredging

Method
 

  1. Marinate chicken in buttermilk for at least 20 minutes.
  2. Mix flour with garlic powder, smoked paprika, pepper, and salt in one dish; place panko in another.
  3. Dredge chicken in seasoned flour, dip back in buttermilk, then coat with panko.
  4. Pan-fry in oil over medium heat, 5-6 minutes per side, until golden and internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  5. Simmer honey, hot sauce, butter, red pepper flakes, cayenne, vinegar, and salt over low heat until smooth.
  6. Drizzle warm glaze over crispy chicken and serve immediately.
